Celebrating a wedding and celebrating it right!
When we
think of a wedding ceremony, many people think of the classic and timeless
image of a church wedding, bride wearing a gorgeous white wedding dress with
flowing train. She is attended by her bridesmaids, flower girls and other
attendees. She makes her entrance into the church where the ceremony is to be
held, groom waiting at the altar. His best man and others wait with him, often
somewhat nervous. A priest or minister is close by, ready to say the solemn
vows that confirm the newlyweds matrimonial status.
It all
sounds so very formal. So scripted. And all so yesterday. While its true that
many people still opt for this style of wedding, its also completely fair to
say that today there are many different styles of wedding and marriage
ceremonies. And they don’t always involve formal situations or in truth,
Priests.
This post
is about some of the many different styles a modern wedding can take, and the
different types of officiant available. It’s set in Queensland, so has a
distinctly Aussie theme.
Queensland
is a warm state of Australia. Most of the year, temperatures are balmy, between
20 and 30 degrees Celsius. What this means is that it’s warm enough to have an
outdoor wedding. The other consideration weather wise is humidity. It rains
quite a lot in the Sunshine State, which seems odd given that name. And when
its not raining it can be very humid.
So while
its warm enough to hold an outdoor wedding, many still opt for an indoor
marriage ceremony, simply due to the certainty – and the air conditioning.
Here are
some of the more popular outdoor wedding ideas.
On the
Sunshine Coast, beach weddings are very popular. But another form that is also
popular in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland is an outdoor farm yard or barn style
wedding. The Hinterland around Maleny and Montville has multiple options for
this, as well as some gorgeous stately manors that are perfect as a wedding
venue. Ceremonies at these events are often conducted by a marriage celebrant Sunshine Coast rather than a Priest or Minister, and tend to be fun, less
formal affairs.
Switch to
the South of Queensland, andlets take a quick look at the Gold Coast. Renowned
as Australia’s playground, the Gold Coast is a popular beach, surf and boating
hub. When planning a marriage ceremony on the Gold Coast, if you have made
contact with a Marriage Celebrant Gold Coast, they will usually have some
excellent venues that they can recommend. These include headland weddings, Surf
Club Weddings, Beachside wedding ceremonies, and even weddings and wedding
receptions held on boats, particularly on The Broadwater.
We’ve saved
the best for last. Brisbane. A beautiful city with so many venues and wedding
ideas to offer. As Brisbane has been settled longer than the other areas, the
types of venues differ. Especially popular are riverside weddings, as well as
wedding ceremonies held in some of the gorgeous parks and Golf Clubs. A
Brisbane marriage celebrant will be able to guide you through their favourite
locations, as they too will have knowledge of regular venues.
